There is something really special about a stool.
Unlike a chair it lifts you higher.
At times we prop against the edge with legs resting on the floor.
Other times we are airborne with the stool as our support.
I like the fact that a stool could add to the posture and body language of an individual. In it’s creation, I wanted to make sure that the rigidity of the material was maintained. Unlike many of my sculptures, there were to be no curves, just right angles. The incorporation of the metal with it’s slight patina added an attractive contrast in texture to the wood and leaving the countersink holes unfilled maintained that overall aged look I was going for.
